‘Little Red Riding Hood’

This week has been a lot of fun. Both on the professional as well as on the personal side.

On professional grounds, it started with two very interesting events/conferences over data protection (privacy).

Yes, I know what you are thinking… but trust me, I had a lot of fun. I’ll be writing over those soon at BlogEuropa.eu.

The rest of the week was, in this regard, a busy one. It involved much more contract drafting as well as spending time out of the office with Clients than I usually do.

I had forgotten what three and a half hour luncheons with Clients felt like… Ah… Spanish dining habits… as one totally perplexed American Attorney told me once…
No wonder why productivity figures in Spain never seem to grow… (This last observation is mine… ;-) )

On the personal side, it has been a busy week as well.

Without any doubt, the highlight of the week, in EVERY regard, took place yesterday.

A week ago, we had received a letter from the kindergarten where the older of our kids go, extending an invitation to any parents interested to join them in celebrating the ‘book’ week.

They were suggesting any interested parents to choose one popular fable or fairy tale and to come in, in the middle of the morning, and read it aloud to the kids.

Well, this was a new thing for me… and while I thought it would be a good thing to share with our little one… I must confess I also wanted to peek in how did a weekday in his life looked like.

So I called the kindergarten, inquired about available dates and available tales.

Friday the 25th. was it, and boy was it great. I must confess that I tried to engage kids a bit more than the teachers expected… Every few sentences I asked the two year olds: I can’t remember… was the wolf a good wolf or a bad wolf? And while they started very shy… in the end everyone engaged and I bet you could hear the screaming from a couple houses away…

So we had a lot of fun, and I got a big flower too… I think teachers weren’t expecting many daddies… as opposed to mommies. In fact, from what I hear, I suspect I’ve been the only dad showing up so far.

So, happy friday? You bet!
